Customer Review: Very good indeed
I recently bought a Binatone Carrera and it was absolute total rubbish (see my review here at Amazon). I returned it and bought the ONE XL. What a world of difference. Best route first try every time, instantly recalculates if you decide to go a different way, easy to use menus, good to look at.

I would have given it 5 stars but for the fact that it doesn’t know where I live. I live on a small island between canal and river, and not only does it not recognise my post code or address, but the island is shown on its map as having no roads. Indeed, the bridge onto the island is not even shown! Surprising really, as the residences here have been here for at least 6 or 7 years. I await news from TomTom about this.

What a life saver driving straight to locations instead of spending hours poring over the maps! Unfortunately mine has only lasted 13 weeks before a fault has developed with the touch screen flashing on & off. Has anyone out there successfully returned anything to Amazon?

Customer Review: Zen V MP3 players
I am on my third Zen V. No real problems with software (I’m no techy)or transferring music from Windows Media Player direct to player, or into the Creative Organiser. Sound is great through decent headphones. BUT.. 1) Build quality is poor (volume rocker switch problems on 2 of the players) 2)Joystick cover and stick fell apart on 1 of the players (had it for 18 months so just wrote it off) 3)ALL of them lock-up! Fix is to allow battery to drain, then re-start. One player completely locked (i.e. no re-start)- replaced by Curry’s without quibble (even though 9 months old). If player 3 (Zen V 4 Gb version)doesn’t hold up, will give up on them.
Customer Review: Very good, with one little hesitation….
Creative Zen V 1 GB I will start with the little hesitation. It is the slider switch controling the on & off. It does seem a little frail But I do hope that the coming months will prove me wrong. Otherwise this is a very good MP3 Player. The software installation is straight forward. I made myself hard work, with my first CD ripping and download to the MP3 Player. (Maybe it was a senior moment thing :-)) In fact, the Creative Media, when installed with the installation disc, does the whole lot for you. Including transferring right away, to the player each track you have just ripped. No messy going into syncro. Wonderful! It charges up fine from the USB port on your computer. However, I do use the computer a lot. So it is not a problem plugging the Mp3 player in, and letting it charge up. The problem might occur if I were not to be using the computer so much. As yet, I have only a little idea of how much power it uses. The screen is excellent. It lists all downloads in alphabetical. It is easy to scroll down to find the artist, or album, or track you want to play. It is adequate in size for viewing your photos. And you can create a screen save, and there is a calander as well. The sound quality is very, very good. It seems quite smooth and with good base definition. The ear phones that come with the MP3 player have pretty good sound quality as well. The wires are attached to little posts, helping to keep them aligned correcty in the ear. The size is just right. Fits into a small pocket neatly. The phone outlet is at the top. I suppose the scrolling button could be a bit fiddly. But I have quite large fingers and I don’t find it that awkward. So, to sum up. The main attributes, would be the neat menue. The clarity, considering the size of the screen. The size of the unit itself. The sound quality, which is very important, and is very very good. I am enjoying using all the functions on this player very much. Touch wood, it will be giving me still, much pleasure in using, in months to come.

Customer Review: Poor product experience but great Amazon service
I ordered this item as a gift. Despite ordering mid December, it arrived on time for the holidays. Unfortunately, the item was broken on arrival, the CD changer would grind when attempting to insert or switch to CD 4 or 5 and flashed “CHANGER ERROR”. The Ipod dock worked as expected with a Nano 2G, though the connector was a bit snug. Getting the Ipod on the dock took effort to line up correctly. Pros: Decent sound. Ipod play via remote worked. Charged Ipod. Nice sized remote, large buttons. Cons: Can’t switch CDs without stopping CD play back. CD drive is loud, even when playing audio CDs. Unit was a cooling fan that can be heard. It was broken out of the box! Returning to Amazon for a refund was hassle free, thanks Amazon!
