This is due to that the freeview service (www.freeview.co.uk) in the UK does not fully support portable TV antenna at present. The reception will be improving along with the progress of Digital Switchover Program (http://www.digitaltelevision.gov.uk). A signal amplifier or booster may improve reception capability in regions where the signal is marginally strong. (Please note that reception capability may also be affected by various factors such as proximity to freeview TV/digital radio transmitters, tall building structures, thick walls, ceilings and etc.). A rooftop TV aerial may be required to watch freeview channels in regions where the signal is insufficient for a portable antenna.

I was in the market for a good quality portable DVD player for my daughter and stumbled on this Xoro gem which also comes with Freeview TV and whole host of other useful features. The player looks really smart and feels robust. The screen gives very good pictures. The unit’s seven-day electronic programme guide is easy to operate and the tuner only takes a couple of minutes to locate the TV and radio channels. The player comes with its mini-aerial, and like all digital sets, this TV does have to be in strong signal area to receive TV preogrammes. Other features include an SD card reader so one can view their photos as a slideshow. There are two headphone jacks which is handy if you have two kids who want to watch a DVD at the same time when you are driving! The only area that is not allowing me to give it 5 stars is the TV reception in poor signal areas (not the players fault mind you!). Overall very pleased and recommended.
