Customer Review: So easy, even a seventy year old can use it
My father in law was desperately in need of a new tv for christmas, to replace his old hitachi plus set top freeview box. He’s in his seventies, so the criteria for choosing a tv are a little different to some i.e. it doesn’t need to be great for using with an xbox, or have perfect picture quality to the nth pixel, or whatever. (I’m no techie myself.) However, he does deserve a top quality picture and research showed this fits the bill.

What we really needed though, was a remote control that was going to be easy for him to use, not too fiddly, and with decent sized buttons. This ruled out loads of sets but not this one.

Sound quality was something of an issue too. The old boy’s hearing isn’t what it used to be and this set’s got good quality sound. The Samsung, for example, has speakers around the back, to give a surround sound type effect. Not clear enough for him.

Finally, it needed to be easy to set up. All the reviews confirmed that this would be simple. We couldn’t take the tv to him, so arranged for delivery direct to him. He took out of the box, plugged it in and it set itself up. He’s just like a little boy with a new toy.

All in all, this tv is a superb buy and ticks all the boxes. When something is this simple to operate, you might expect it to be the basic model, with fewer features or lacking in quality. But just because it doesn’t have dozens of tiny buttons and complicated onscreen menus that you have to access to adjust the picture to make it absolutely perfect, it doesn’t mean you aren’t getting a top of the range product.

And a plus mark for Amazon - they delivered within 36 hours of placing the order.

this PhilipsSA3124/02 mp4 player is fab!! i love it! had it for about a month now and its awesome! i have an ipod nano aswell but trust me this PhilipsSA3124/02 is way better! because you can use windows media player with it and its alot better for the money. awesome. if you want a good mp4 player then get this trust me.

I’ve had my Philips SA3124/02 MP3 player now for about 2 months and it’s superb. It’s very easy to use, with the menu system being one of the best I’ve seen. You can randomize your playlist or play tracks in order. The graphic equalizer lets you chose from a number of settings. Transferring music is simple and can be done using Windows Media Player or you can just drag and drop the music files. It has a 2GB memory which is good for about 500 tracks. The sound is good, although the supplied bud headphones aren’t the best so I invested in some better ones (makes a big difference). The unit charges via the USB connector and the battery lasts 10 hours plus. The screen is okay for watching films and will deal with widescreen. A+ would definitely recommend. Don’t be fooled by the i-Pod, they are expensive and you have to deal with i-Tunes which is a nightmare.
