Camera worked fine for the first six months, then suddenly the battery stopped taking a charge, meaning I am now rummaging around trying to dig up the manufacturer’s warranty. very disappointing.

Customer Review: Awesome value for money
Bought this to replace my solid steel ixus v3 which is 5yrs old. Indestructible but the age shows in the image detail.

The fuji is a giveaway at this price, it has by far the largest sensor of any similar (and much larger compacts) which means low noise, good low light performance vivid detail and colour. It also has a fujichrome mode that simulate the old premium fuji 35mm film and give great colour and contrast. The screen is the same size and resolution as my nikon d40 dSLR and has a stunningly high refresh rate with good brightness.

I am certain the people on the internet moaning about the noise and poor image quality are using the rubbish auto modes that crank the up the ISO to silly levels. At 400 the fuji will blow away any compacts from other makes. Stick to the semi-manual mode and set your own ISO and the results are fantastic from such a small camera.

You get real-time shutter speed and aperture info on the display but stupidly you cannot set them manually - this feature would make the camera outstanding. The menu system is also a bit naff compared to canon and nikon and no histogram either.

White balance options are much better than average too with x3 fluorescent settings. Haven’t tried the face-detection but surely the photographer is capable of that?

Build quality very decent and also has built in IR communication for wireless image transfer if your laptop has it. Takes SD cards so don’t have to buy overpriced and inconvenient XD. mini USB socket is non-standard which is slightly annoying but obviously cable is included and SD card slots are everywhere these days. Batt charger is nice and compact.

I would not be disappointed had I spent twice the money on this, go and get one now before they sell out.

Customer Review: Great bit of Kit! Fantastic Value!
I must admit I was nervous at first about buying this product because of such mixed reviews! But people have posted quite comprehensive instructions to combat difficulties they’ve experienced. So make sure you use Windows Media Player, mp3 files, and change your usb setting to msc, and you should have no problem getting set up! As for the acessories that come with it. I think the headphones are fine, however I’ve taken another reviewer’s advice and bought Creative’s noise isolation in-ear phones (EP-360) which will be better for going to the gym or out running. The mp3 player cost me ?12, and for an extra ?4 bought the m200 silicone case, as the case provided is poor. The arm strap works fine, great for sport. The only reason I’ve given it 4 stars is the instructions disc does not tell you about having to use Windows Media Player, and changing the usb settings, otherwise I’d have given it 5 stars as it’s a quality bit of kit. If you want a different shaped player then spend another ?28!!!!
Customer Review: Lasted one day.
At first I thought this was brilliant - I’ve never had an mp3 before and found it easy to instal music and set up my favourites list. Went to use it next day at the gym and the on/off switch broke when I tried to turn it on, rendering it useless. Maybe I was just unlucky and got a dud, but I won’t be buying another of these.
