Customer Review: Looks Great… but there be a wait
I am a Vision M owner and very happy with its performance. It was my first MP3 player and I wanted it for its storage capacity and Audio quality. I find however its just a bit too big for some of my needs (cant be stuffed in a trouser pocket), although great at home. I use a set of Shure SE310’s which are very good. Ive also discovered that I dont need as much memory as I thought I did, having stuffed the “M” with tracks and only used 10GB. Enter the Zen all shiny and small with great SNR 96dB (same as the Vision M) and 16Gb + expandable memory. Im really please about the AAC compatability: shame it wont take AAC Lossless. Not too sure about the loss of the slider control but I guess this had to go to reduce the overall size I think the Zen is a must buy for me, even though I have just bought a small and very funky iPod shuffle for sports use. Eager to find out when the Zen was available I phone Creative only to be told that the 16Gb version will not be available till the end of October, not September as advertised here (albeit with a rider). Oh well… good things come to those who wait. I see the Amazon price for the Vision M has gone though the roof so may be a good time to sell it on Ebay! Im guessing this is because the M is to be discontinued and stocks are very low. Still waiting to see a full blown tested review on the Zen but Im guessing it will perform as good as it looks.
Customer Review: The best player I’ve seen from Creative!!
Being the proud owner of the Zen Vision M purchased only a few months ago from Amazon UK, I am so impressed with the sound quality of the ZVM. I can’t wait for the release of this new Creative Zen 16Gb PMP! It has everything I need without the inconvenience of the bulkiness of the player it is replacing namely the Zen Vision M. I was always put off buying solid state players due to the limited memory and lack of expansion, however with this player; we have the ability to expand our music, video and photo collection with the SD/SDHC slot! After researching on the net I have read about the massive developments in SDHC card technology! I have been made aware that Toshiba and Samsung are releasing a new range of these high capacity flash memory cards at the beginning of 2008, such as. 16 GB, 32 GB and soon after that 64 GB. This new Creative Zen will be almost future proof with the introduction of these new SDHC flash cards. Roll on 29th September 2007!!!! I will report back when I get hold of my new Zen 16Gb.
