It also has 4 composite A/V inputs (3 rear, 1 side), 1 A/V output, 1 S-video input (side), and 2 RF inputs (rear).

Aspect ratio: The aspect ratio refers to the shape of the video image. Standard television has a 4:3 aspect ratio, which is almost square in appearance. Digital television will have either a 4:3 or 16:9 aspect ratio, which is widescreen and appears rectangular, looking more like a movie screen and filling more of the viewer’s field of vision for a more lifelike viewing experience.

Scanning method: Frames of video are made up of many lines of video that are scanned onto a television screen so closely they appear to be a solid picture. The scanning method can be either interlaced or progressive. Interlaced scanning (also used in today’s analog TV), indicated by an “i” in the video format, fills in the odd number lines (1,3,5,7…) and then fills in the even number lines (2,4,6,8…) until the frame is complete. Progressive scanning, “p,” fills in each line consecutively until the frame is complete, like a computer display.

This TV is undoubtedly a “Perfect” one for the price. Crystal clear “digital” picture… no less than HDTV. I’ve owned this for almost an year and have no issues either with the picture quality or the sound quality. When I was purchasing this TV, I’ve compared this with the Sony Analog 32′. This TV has better picture quality because of the fact that this one is a “Digital” TV. You can clearly see the difference. And sound quality is just amazing! You don’t need a home theatre, if you tune this TV. Overall, I am very satisfied with Samsung. I’ll recommend this TV to all who have trouble making the decision with Sony analog 32 or any other analog 32′ TV. Believe me, you’ll not regret.
Customer Review: CRT failure
At 7 months the CRT failed on this product, it cost $65.00 to have the authorized dealer tell us that. The solution was a complete replacement of the television and since it is out of warranty, charged another $120.00. After 4 calls to Samsung, I was finally referred to an office to look at my problem. Samsung would not reimburse me for anything. I would not buy Samsung again because of this.

Bought an HXD910 in Early February, after 5 weeks of use it went wrong - became permanently stuck in “Recovery” mode. It had the annoying tendency after playing CDs to revert to putting broadcast soundtrack through the audio channels once the CD had stopped. Its response time to controls from the remote seemed rather sluggish. The EPG implementation on the tuner was less user friendly than on the Sony standalone Freeview box. Did not seem like good value for money to me.

What a good bit of kit for the price. I got my charger the other day with a spare batt (sold sep) and its fantastic. I charge one batt and use the other one. As we all know the n95 does not have the best batt life so its great to have a spare fully charged batt when you need it.

I bought this item to charge my Nokia N95 in car. The picture for the item shows the round plug, which Nokia’s normally use, however when i recieved this item it had the mini USB connection instead of the round plug. I tried the item out just to make sure that it wouldnt work and my suspitions were confirmed when my phone didnt start charging. I think there is a bit of confusion with the seller here as the N95 charges through the round hole not the USB. IF YOU NEED AN IN CAR CHARGER FOR AN N95 LOOK ELSEWHERE.

2 stars for a good ipod interface and easy to use setup.

3 stars off for poor build quality (mine had the high pitch whining noise), poor sound (don’t try to play anything with a bassline) and poor customer service (despite this being “unfortunately” a known fault, I got no apology and was made to feel like I was splitting hairs for bringing it up).

Mine’s gone back.

I compared this to the intempo and this is much better than the latter. The features are fantastic (especially the ipod functionality), it is very user-friendly and it is a great size (much smaller than the pics suggest). Everyone goes on about the sleek look of the intempo but I think this one actually looks cooler. The only downsides are a slight buzz at very low volumes (it’s fine though) and the fact that you can’t use the remote to go through your presets, but they are far outweighed by the upsides.

I am very happy with it and I am pretty fussy about these things.

Bought this drive & had it for a few days, so far its fine, here are some tips though: My system is an XP laptop upgraded to Vista Business 6 months ago, so Pros: 1. Compact & quiet, infact my laptop hardrive i can hear over the WD drive. Its virtually silent. Runs very cool. 2. Its plug & play so will work within a few minutes of plugging in. Cons: 1. Comes formatted as FAT32, if your running Vista or XP then your existing system will most likely be NTFS. So reformat to NTFS using the Windows quick format. KEEP IT ALL THE SAME!!! BE WARNED THOUGH FOMATTING OR REFORMATTING ANY HARD DRIVE DELETES EVERYTHING ON IT! So copy off the user manual & other files that come on the drive first to your desktop then put them back on after the reformat. If you do lose the software that comes with it, you can download it at the website, once you’ve registered the product. 2. The Memeo backup software is only a trail version, i think this should be free as standard, so its a waste of time installing this. As it won’t work untill you purchase it after the 30 day trial period! I USE WINDOWS ENTIRE PC BACKUP INSTEAD THAT COMES WITH VISTA. THEN BACK UP MANUALLY ONCE A WEEK! 3. It’s 930GB not 1TB, not really a con, as with most hard drives, you don’t get the full useable capacity. It is a 1TB drive but there will be base files needed to make it work that have to be there so you get 930GB. Always buy a bigger drive than you need to get around this issue!!! Summary then: 1. Reformat to NTFS 2. Keep this drive in the upright position always. 3. Don’t knock it about or keep moving it. 4. Don’t bother using the software that comes with it. 5. If this is used for backup then it’s good practice anyway to keep two seperate hard drives & from different manufacturers even to reduce the risk of any data loss, should one drive go down you’ve got the other. I don’t trust any pc related equipment! Then again two backups of the same data should be done as standard. 5.If disconnecting any hardware from a pc i would always ensure everything is switched off, it only take a bit of static to destroy your files & your pc. This all helps to save your files. DO NOT UNPLUG THIS DRIVE FROM YOUR PC WHILE BOTH ARE SWITCHED ON, YOU MAY LOSE EVERYTHING ON IT! & KNACKER YOUR PC TOO!!! I’ve yet to see how the long term reliability is, as other reviews say they have failures after 6 months or so. We’ll see then.

Many negative reviews below, BUT (fingers crossed) I’ve had mine up and running a week now and - well, yes, it’s a bit slow, and no, it’s not completely silent, but I still LOVE it. No messing with DVDs, you can see exactly how much room you have on the hard drive, I can pause and rewind TV whenever, and you can be recording 2 programmes at once while watching something else you recorded all at the same time (where else can you get that?)! Channel 5 reception not fantastic but also never was with my last freeview box, so it’s not really bothering me. I may one day be tempted into cable because it’s pretty much picture perfect ALL the time, but I’ll still have it hooked up to this machine for recording. I had a true electrickery anorak (and perfectionist) come round the other day and he made very impressed noises about how excellent it was for the price, so I’ve got no complaints. Think the answer is to not have it in your bedroom if you’re a light sleeper. See also review below by Allan Kelly below from 12 Aug 07, very helpful.

This fits to the windscreen or to any flat smooth surface, and has to be totally flat or will not create a vacuum and stick.

Having said that, once it is stuck it is sturdy and holds any size iPod, PDA, Mobile phone really well.

The sides work on a ratchet system and you press the button on the back to release them to their greatest width. Then you place in your iPod, push one of the sides closed and the other will close at the same time, until they are holding your iPod nice and firm. Solid as a rock, well designed and a must-have!

I bought a cheaper one, was disappointed and then thought “blow it” and forked out for this. I would buy one as a gift and I would definitely recommend it.

I tavel a lot off road and my iPod remains firmly in place on my windscreen. I previously bought a mount from the carphone warehouse which has now been binned.

What is great about his is ther are two replactable feet on the botton to hold the iPod inplace and you can also rotate it in the mounted position.

There is a push button relaes at the back to relaes the iPod and the fpam grips on the side hold my maano firmly on plase with no scratching

The new music format has swept across the Net, delighting music fans, empowering artists, horrifying record companies and baffling those who’ve come late to the party. If you’re looking for the MP3 equivalent of Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Sex, But Were Afraid to Ask, MP3! I Didn’t Know You Could Do That… might fit the bill.

This book covers all aspects of MP3, starting with the reasons why it’s such a big deal and the hardware required. In-depth reviews of the top MP3 Web sites lead you into main act: six chapters explaining how to use the players, rippers (programs for producing MP3 files from audio CDs) and broadcasting software on the accompanying CD. There’s also a chapter on portable MP3 players.

The authors adopt a streetwise tone and downplay the technical aspects. Although this makes the book approachable, the smart asides sometimes take over. For example, when introducing the Virtuosa Gold interface, they say:

Virtuosa Gold was apparently designed to present a drag-and-drool interface–which it does, but sophisticated users (yes,that’s you when you’ve doffed your bathrobe and put on your 501s) find it clunky. If Fisher-Price designed a ripper-jukebox, it might look something like this.

Huh? Complete beginners would be better off with a book that gets to the point more quickly. Though it doesn’t offer any earth-shattering tips and tricks, MP3! I Didn’t Know You Could Do That… is a decent crash course in MP3. –Mary Lojkine

Customer Review: Can’t go wrong with this
I bought this for a friend who wanted to get a good knowledge of the internet and I saw him about a week later churning out CDs with his own variations or the originals of songs. I seriously reccomend this book if you are new to the idea of MP3s (You don’t want a ?200 little shiny box sitting by your computer gathering dust) you want to get this book if you like music I must admit it doesn’t give all the things a pro knows but who cares it gives all the info you would need and then with your expanded knowledge you would find out about it anyway. I have no reccomendations as high as this to any other book to do with MP3s.

I have a Logitech MM50 and must admit that the sound quality is pretty good. However the max volume is fairly low and the rechargeable battery goes flat very quickly when not in use. Nice carry case. Compact.

I fail to understand how the battery can run flat if you don’t use it for a week - Perhaps I have a duff one. Whatever the reason, it’s a good reason not to buy this unit!

Yes it is definitely.It not only looks good but the design is exceptional. When I decided I needed a new case for my laptop, I set myself a budget of ?40. When I saw this and its incredibly low price on Amazon, I had my doubts but I decided to risk it anyway … and I’m so glad that I did. This case is smart enough for office workers and cheap enough for students. An adjustable velcro band stores your laptop securely and there is a strap provided to make it easy to carry the case around. There are wallets and pockets for almost anything that you would wish to have handy when out and about. Made for 15-inch screen laptops, the case is not massive by any means but it’s still big enough to house all those essential accessories. In addition to my laptop, I have managed to fit in the bulky power cable, portable speakers, a USB modem, a mouse and a USB hub. There’s still plenty of space left for CDs, pads, documents, etc. Belkin have thought of everything and have come up with a top product which should really be much more expensive that it is. So don’t hesitate like me and do your laptop a favour by getting one!

to be honest i only bought this game because it was only ?12.99 from gamestation knowing full well it must be completley crap just because of the price, and this was back in new year. from only playing about a hour maybe two of gameplay it was like having a ps1/2 from having un-control of the camera so there isnt any control of where you actually need to look and the graphics are like something that has just come out when the ps2 did. i was in a ninja hack n slash gaming mood which i also bought ninja gaiden on the same day and that is a trillion times better alone with having 60 frames per second graphics and you can do literally everyting that is needed in a ninja game. so its really upto you.. if you like retro style games to play then go full steam ahead and buy this but it just puts the PS3 to shame.

While not being overly good in any respect, Genji is simultaneously not overly bad in any area either, but the whole thing is still a little unsatisfying. It plays just like it’s predecessor, but with the ‘Kamui’ mode changed and, in my opinion, made a lot worse. It’s a straightforward fighting game with minor exploration elements to it and some decent ideas such as instant switching between characters and weapons on the fly, something all games of this type should offer in future I believe. It’s fun, but not overly so, and one of the characters(Shizuka) is actually rather annoying to play as. The visuals betray this game’s origins as a PS2 game upscaled to PS3 standard, with a fixed camera you can’t change(Did Onimusha Dawn of Dreams teach us nothing?) and some rather uninspired visual detail mixed in with some very pleasing visual effects in places. It looks okay, but not great by any means. Though I will give it that it runs incredibly quickly and smoothly, even with huge numbers of enemies on screen. A very average game that plays way too much like it’s predecessor but somehow isn’t as much fun. It’s worth a look of you can get it on the cheap, but at full price? Avoid.
